It's the NBTSC photo album!
I (Grace) had a heap of fun pulling all these photos together. I've created this album with 2 goals in mind:
1) Knowing that a picture is worth 1000 words, I wanted to convey as broad a sense as possible of what camp is like, to help prospective campers and their parents make an educated guess as to whether NBTSC is a good fit for them.
2) I thought it would be fun for camper and staff alums to see some of the photos that we've accumulated over the years. Hence, many are organized, or at least labeled, by year (and in some cases, by session). If you catch a missing or erroneous year label and want to educate me, great.
notes
Impressionistic
I know everybody doesn't have high speed internet access, and I didn't want these
pages to take forever to load. I may have, therefore, erred a little too far in
some cases in the direction of low resolution. I hope the somewhat
impressionistic style is OK... and I'm interested in your feedback. Do the photos
look OK to you, in general? And, are there particular images you'd like to see
at a higher resolution?

PhotoPages.
Credits
Most of these photos are the work of campers who wielded a camera for an
hour or so in lieu
of regular chores, and we didn't keep track of who took what. We've attempted to
credit other photographers, but over the years we've probably mixed up some of our
own photos with some that staffers and campers have kindly shared. So, if you see a
photo that you know you sent us, let us know and we'll credit you!
imbalance
If you have a good photo that you think would add something missing to our
portrayal of camp, feel free to send us a paper copy (we'll return it if you
include a SASE) or an email attachment (jpg format), and good chance we'll use it. As you'll see,
some years and sessions and aspects of camp are better represented here than
others. In particular, we have very few pictures of
organized evening events, some staff people, sporty and athletic behavior, Jake
(silly boy, always on the wrong side of the camera), and the 1996 campout/beach
experience (as in, the
first 2 days ever of NBTSC). Oh, and I thought it would be cool if we had one
good photo of somebody in a T-shirt from every year. Except 1996, because I
designed that one and it embarrasses me. And
whatever else y'all think important or representative.

A few thumbnails here give you an idea, but there are more images on the
actual photo pages. In some cases, you'll also find a wee bit o'
commentary by me.
Sol's photos
Sol is a photographer who works for the Oregonian (largest Oregon
newspaper), and we all think he's
really nice and really fun. He took some gorgeous
shots of us in 2001 and 2002. One won a national award, and a few others got
printed in the paper.
