New stuff for 2012

Big things, little things. We've mentioned most of them elsewhere, but since they're new we want to make extra sure we draw your attention to them.

All Sessions

the Creation Circle

We are excited about this experiment, open to all campers who have previously been at camp for two or more years. While everybody -- new and old, camper and staff -- helps to create and envision each session of camp, the Creation Circle embodies the intention to take this spirit of co-creation a step further. More details on our Creation Circle page.

(Beginning in 2013 we will want graduating folks to have participated in the Creation Circle for at least one year, so be sure to sign up if you hope to graduate in 2013.)

Agreements

They won't change signficantly in content, but they may get a rewrite. We will continue to verbally affirm, at camp, our plans to keep the agreements.

Oregon Session 2

Film fest

Instead of movie night (or perhaps along with a short movie night), we're looking for films created by campers and staff. More here.

Verizon Cell phones

Verizon cell phones now work at Camp Myrtlewood. We don't recommend that you spend much of your precious camp time on the phone, but for what it's worth, now you know.

You can sign up for the ocean field trip even if you want a mellow rest day.

Because with our two-week schedule, there is a rest day scheduled on the day after the field trip. (Also, we're going to a new location: the beaches at Bandon.) More here.

Vermont

Bring a personal item for our collage.

We'll build a giant altar/montage together with the intention of evoking a sense of sanctuary - a space where we are all welcome and included and our deepest selves are honored. (Folks who have participated in Wild Card Week or New Hampshire Session 2 have experienced this already -- now we'll incorporate it into the beginning of our 2-week session.) More details on our "what to pack" page.

Projects

Extended, multi-day workshops where you get to really dive into a subject. Don't forget to sign up in advance for the one you like best. More here.
