How to contact our office, our staff or campers during camp season

Check our contact page for updates on how to best reach us, particularly during camp. (That page will be updated, this page probably won't be.)

Calling our New York office phone number will not connect you to us at camp. (And please don’t call it in the middle of the night; it rings at Sarabeth’s house and wakes her up.)

Parents: If you call camp and reach voicemail but want someone on staff to return your call, please be specific as to the nature of your question or concern. That way, the appropriate person can call you back. For instance, it’s a waste of your time and ours if you ask for Grace to call you back, but what you really need is to discuss (with the logistics director) the changes to your daughter’s travel plans. Also, note that we cannot be consistently or reliably reached by email during camp (if this changes, our contact page will say so).

for Oregon campers only: July 1 - August 10

For issues related to your payment, the status of your registration or the information/forms we need from you, contact Sarabeth in New York. For other concerns, including questions about travel, contact our seasonal office in Oregon: logistics.nbtsc@gmail.com, 215-268-6667. After August 10 -- see our contact page.

for New Hampshire campers, September 7-19 and Sept 26-30

[This section updated 9/14/2011 to reflect our last-minute move from Vermont to Hampshire -- thank you for a new adventure, Tropical Storm Irene.]

We will try to remain accessible by phone in case campers have last minute questions. During part of this time, however, we may be traveling and then busy in staff orientation meetings. Check our contact page to find out the best way to reach us. Once we’ve arrived at Camp Huckins (probably late on the 17th), we can receive calls at 603-539-4710. (You may also be able to reach Matt, our logistics coordinator, directly at 215-268-6667.)

More about phones and mail at camp

There are no pay phones at camp, and in each of our locations there is only one phone to be used for important or urgent situations only. “Important” can mean checking in with your parents occasionally if you’re not used to being away from home or just need to hear a familiar voice, so please do ask us if that applies to you, but you will need to keep your conversations very short.

Cell phones: All of our locations are too remote for most people to call out or receive calls.

Senders of mail should keep in mind that delivery can be slow, as in any remote area. You should expect your mail to take at least one more day to arrive than it would to reach a nearby city. (Also, we request that parents not send large quantities of cookies, candy, etc., in care packages. There is usually a fair amount of sugar floating around camp already—because some campers bring and share it—and we feel it really contributes to their getting sick.)
