Zander's Place

I started binding my chest June 1, 2005 with a Futuro Abdominal Binder- size M (can be purchased at CVS Pharmacy for about $30). There has never been a day where I found it comfortable, but it did do the job. That is, until the elasticity wore out around the fourth month of consistant use. April 10, 2006 I moved on to an Underworks Double-front Compression Vest - size XS (can be purchased online for $36, plus S+H) thanks to my friend, Kody, who was lovely enough to buy it for me. Not only does it flatten out my chest, but it also is extremely comfortable compared to Futuro and a 4" ACE bandage (also sold at CVS for about $6), which I DO NOT recommend using, as they can cause a multitude of health problems, and potential deformity (a guy I know has permanent indentation all around his chest and back). So I would recommend you to go to Underworks (bigger guys especially), or go out and buy a sports bra with a high lycra content. The only annoyances with it that I've noticed, if it's your first time ever wearing one, you should have someone help you put it on and take it off the first few times. I won't lie, it will be VERY tight, but my friend Joe recommended stretching it over the back of a chair. Also, sometime in 2007, they've added 30% more length and (I think) spandex. So the neckline is a bit lower, and the binder takes longer to break in, but it will last longer.
I don't have a picture of me rocking my Underworks binder, for some strange reason. But here is a picture taken in January of '06 wearing a Futuro. Another annoyance with that type of binder is that it pretty much means only baggy shirts can be worn - which conflicts with my love of gayboy shirts. Pics below document the progression of my chest breakdown, and will not be in thumbnails, because I don't feel like offending someone who might have something against excess chest on a guy.
